It’s interesting that the Apple motto is "Think Different” because they haven’t done anything I would consider particularly different recently.

The two most interesting things they’ve done recently in my opinion are the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 models and their move to Apple Silicon. Dynamic Island is hardly very groundbreaking though, and while Apple Silicon is a nice boost, the new M2 chips were kind of underwhelming.

The thing I think they do that’s the most different from other companies however, is their pricing ladder. It shouldn’t cost $200 to add 256GB of storage to a MacBook. The fact they’ve removed all the ports other than on the MacBook Pro models is another notable thing they’ve done so they can sell more dongles and accessories. It’s annoying how aggressive it is. Reminds me a little bit of Nintendo and Overwatch 2.

What are your guys’ thoughts?

That’s true. It’s unfortunate because I feel like they could loosen a lot of their policies and have so much more cool stuff on their platform without risking security but they won’t
