SH1MMER Status Update 2

I know it hasn’t been long at all since the first one, but turns out the “default” school computers are a “Lars” model/CPU/thing/I DON’T KNOW/etc. which isn’t ideal for me. While yes, I do have an Octopus model/etc. school computer I don’t want to risk it with that one since they know it was assigned to ME and ONLY me. I plan on asking my friend who doesn’t use his assigned laptop at all if I could borrow it since me always being on it and then suddenly going offline for a period of time so long it’s unbelievable is quite suspicious. Even after getting in contact with the creator of SH1MMER they just told me that Octopus.bin won’t work on Lars model and sent me the repo link and just told me I can build the shim file myself but I’m too dumb for that so I guess I’m going to have to decide my choice lol.

[Side note: I should probably state that YES, I am going to enroll it when I’m done, this is only to play games like Terraria and Minecraft Java Edition, and I’ll only be doing this until the end of the year, I’ll also have to be careful since my friend got caught unblocking his Chromebook with another method and got in trouble with the school (he just lost his assigned Chromebook, that’s all)]

I used it on an octopus school chromebook but it had an error. Either it’s patched or something weird happened. Since I’m known to be technical at my school I could probably get out of trouble if I was to break it. It’s also no required so I could just use a different computer if it was to break again. Also you wouldn’t be able to play MC on a cb since the later releases have a lot of hardware restrictions to run, even my old windows computer couldn’t run it. If you are to try it out, make sure that you use a new usb that can write fast because I used an old one and it took several hours. An upside I got out of it though accidentally was clearing the history so I guess that works, but it also clears local storage like downloads that aren’t saved to drive, and the chromebook will need to reinstall extensions and apps, but it does that automatically. You get a lot of extension “welcome“ tabs that pop up.

hmm… i surely hope my two days of dedication isn’t going to go to waste

as far as i know the creator said it stills works, so google hasn’t patched it and even if they did i can recover to an older version using chrome100.dev and use it
