small rant :P

so my mom just tried to hit one of those “are you sure u wanna do this??” things and showed me an engineering job listing for $500k/year i “could’ve possibly gotten” in the future at OpenAI if i hadn’t decided to give up engineering to pursue music. i have a few problems with this because:

1. my goal isn’t to pursue money anymore but to be happy. music genuinely makes me happy.

2. i have plenty of issues with big corps in general when it comes to ethics, especially OpenAI.

so tl;dr am i missing out? the way i see it, no, because i would rather do something that makes me happy

also i’m still a high schooler so i don’t really need to be worrying about some silly job listing that may or may not exist in the future
