just realized Yoshikage Kira’s name is literally wordplay for “Shadow Killer” or “Peaceful Killer” or however the frick you’d properly interpret it

(the kanji in “Kira” (キラ) is actually one letter off from “Killer” (キラー), and “Yoshikage” (吉景) stands for “Peaceful”, “Justice”, “Righteousness” or “Morality”, if you were to split it up, “Yoshi” (ヨシ) means “Good luck”, “good”, “virtuous”, “respectable”, while “Kage” means “Shadow” (影) or “Other side”. AKA “Kira” is the only entirely correct thing in his name, whilst the other half of his name is only partially correct, since he lacks righteousness or morale, virtuouality and respectability, atleast if you know his “other side”.)

And I basically jumped on this factor - I’d’ve also pointed out the fact that the footage should atleast have given us the date and time, but it didn’t. And the fact that in this mock trial, there was no identity given to the victim or defendant besides the footage - So that was quick judgement by both defense and jury.

I’d also plead not guilty while the jury claimed self-defense. The jury’s self defense claim was something taken out at the end of the trial, as when you make the attacker unable to fight, you technically have finished your self defense, period.

And speaking of the end of the trial, that’s basically the end of my memory, well - Besides what I wanted to do…

I’d have also asked for another recess to get the exact time, if the camera is definitely not a phone, if the location is even at the school. Though now that I think hard of it, it would’ve probably been easier if the 2 witnesses were just talked about.

Also, the footage did have audio - But for the sake of the mock trial, that was out of point.

Though I guess technically the witnesses part can be considered true because of the footage, but ehhhh…. They were never brung up anyway and everyone forgot it was even mentioned.

one class got replaced with a mock trial (no idea why myself) but dang that was good.

i got lucky enough to be picked as on the defense team, the case itself was just some argument happened between like 2 people and one broke a hand, of course this was made up (…in the trial, it definitely happened elsewhere)

the beginning was basically “no witnesses as the only teacher that was there had their back facing them, no evidence” (in the scenario all of them were above 12, which by hungarian legal system is the age where you become legally punishable)

the jury hinted “defense youre not winning this” and the prosecution’s points were honestly horrid - But that’s for later.

the defense team basically got up with basic info requests such as a map of the school with the positions if possible, time, motive, and evidence. However this is getting a bit ahead.

the opening statement? Several witnesses and piles of evidence, including an audio recording - But if so, then the defense wasn’t updated. But, where did the witnesses come from in that regard?

I don’t remember how that went, but there was (fictionally - the mock trial didnt stop at all) a recess.

Then, a video of a scene, which was claimed to be done by camera - It makes sense when you hear it, but if you look at a map of the footage (that I recreated):

Combined with the footage shaking, this was, without a doubt, NOT a camera.
