If they want to be high contrast, they should increase the saturation of the blocks, not the brighness.
Or make them darker and possibly with adjustments to the text (like font weight) - people are already complaning about Scratch not having a dark mode, they shouldn’t do the exact opposite of what the entire community wants and make it even brighter
