I think it's really sad that Elon Musk can't even donate money or apologize for having false information without being demonized and villified. You can criticize him, but he has done objectively good things.

That’s the thing, even though I’m inherently more liberal than conservative, I don’t think it’s fair to invalidate all of an opponent’s actions solely on a single facet of their actions

Yes, it sucks. He’s done some twisted things; he’s fired many people, publicly shamed a disabled person who worked under him, et cetera. But we must remember that no wrongdoings against him can undo his transgressions; all we can do is move forward—and whenever possible—redress any past errors. Someone who has done bad things is not entirely bad, but it does mean their actions were bad.

Praise the good things he does, condemn the bad. There is no need to include your personal biases against him, or anyone of similar nature, when they express good deeds. Encourage the good things. I have not seen hatred as a proper tool to encourage good behavior. Antagonizing someone only makes them more reluctant to consider your perspective. Arguments should be based less on who is right and who is wrong, but instead, more focused on reaching a consensus after both sides are mutually understood.

You can still have your same opinions of someone without needing to immerse it with every single conversation brought up about someone. Even if I or anyone dislikes Elon Musk, you don’t need to undermine any objectively good things he does just because of your standpoint. Treat someone’s actions separate from their character, unless their actions are the overwhelming majority.

This should be applied to other things as well. Like even though i am more conservative than liberal, i definitely support stopping climate change and reasonable gun control and such, and I hate the Republican party.

Things (and people) aren’t set as 100% good or 100% bad, even though politicians try to make it seem like they are. We need more nuance in our culture.

AGREED!!!
