i mean, smell doesn’t really exist. there are just chemicals in the air that react with the sensors in our nose, which distinguish them and allow us to differentiate them. stuff doesn't inherently have a smell, just like sound is just vibrations that our mind (and those of many Earth creatures) has the capability to translate into information (sound).
