I didn’t take any pictures the first time driving through out of respect, but also because of how run down things were, and I figured there would be streetview images on google maps. There are streetview images for one of the roads off the main road, but honestly it looks way cleaner in the google images than what I saw the other day.

So maybe there really is something about being there in person because I did get an eerie vibe. Who knows 🤔

I’ll post some more stuff in a thread comments as well as some general pictures from my trip so this main post isn’t super long.

Going to visit a supposedly cursed town today, will report back if I see anything weird

Some more background:

The town is called Ivanhoe and supposedly it was cursed in the 1800s by a preacher because the people wouldn’t listen to him or repent or something along those lines. I first heard about it from someone who went and so I was curious to see if you could really feel anything. It’s definitely a sad place and you can certainly feel that, but honestly I’ve seen plenty of places like that across the mountains here.

One thing I can say for sure is that a couple of sites that talk about it online mention part of the curse was for the town to sink into the ground and then they claim that sinkholes have actually opened up since. I didn’t notice anything like that when I was there though. One guy’s driveway was abnormally muddy and riddled with potholes, but I don’t think that counts lol.

Here is a picture I took from the main road kinda just for the sake of taking a picture

I know you can't really see much from this picture (there were a lot of trees in the way and to be honest I didn’t really want to drive back through there…), but looking just at the picture it feels a lot more bright and cheery than I remember it being there

And lastly, I took a walk to the south of the town to help justify driving down there. None of my pictures show it, but it was really pretty. So here’s a picture from that just because:
