congestion pricing is going to effect in nyc on june 30.

this means if you enter 60th street to lower manhattan (excluding highways) you have to pay a toll that depends on the time and you’re vehicle.

the goal is to reduce gridlock and raise more money for the mta to build better transit, as well as encourage people to use public transit. average speeds in the congestion zone is 7.1 mph!

will it work? idk. london has congestion pricing and still the worst traffic in the world. but maybe more mta money? if they can manage it right?
