I have a lot of issues with it. I'll give a few — too many changes in the conflict so rapidly, action for action's sake (which is bad writing), deus ex machina with the deer wolves, a focus on characters besides the titular Hilda that didn't get any focus for the rest of the series, strange decisions that don't seemed to be backed up with reasoning (why didn't the grandparents go through the portal?), no loss, the length itself (not not split it up??), that one old lady (was a stupid character that existed only so no one in the family lost anything), and I think that's it. I had fun watching it with my gf but the writing fell off in the last episode :( I am definitely being over -critical though
