Complaints about Apple silicon Macs when they were first released:
Low base RAM (FIXED with M4 chips, 16gb is standard)
Egregious upgrade prices (Not fixed)
No way to use external GPUs (FIXED because the integrated GPUs are actually good enough)
Small SSDs (Not fixed but also not a very strong complaint, because you can plug in external SSDs)
Bad repairability (They have been getting better on publishing repair details and making parts available, but Macs are still physically hard to repair, even if you know how)
i dont agree with 3: its good but not enough to beat similarly priced windows laptops with RTX 40 series GPUs (they support CUDA too)… and point 4: 256gb as base is just SAD, if they upped that to 512 like they did with the RAM (8 → 16) then that’d be great
