Have you ever felt the urge to join a fandom, not just because you have an interest in it, but because the stars have aligned and fate itself is beckoning you in? The new fandom in my scope may have been a month-long sensation back in 2022, but its footprints are everywhere: recent mentions of it on Pixel Cat’s End, my sister having some prior knowledge of it, my dad gaining an interest to invest in it afterward, fusion fan art on Rain World’s community art page, even spoilers for it showing up on the Mineral Fish topic! I feel like the timeline of my Rain World onboarding process are going to repeat themselves . . .

I have a slight aversion to poking my nose into the details of fandoms that I don’t partake in. My involvement in a fandom is a binary property; either I’m completely out of the know, or I’m a fan. I have the aversion partially out of fear that my imagination will take details from the fandom’s content and do something embarrassing with it.
