Mild politics warning
One of the more interesting contradictions I find with Elon Musk is his distain for Wikipedia, not just because he used to like it and understand why it's a valuable website, but also because he literally benefits from how it functions.
If you look at the Community Notes feature on Twitter, it's functions in a similar manner to Wikipedia. On Wikipedia, when someone edits an article and claims something, it can be verified by anyone since Wikipedia requires citations from reliable sources, on top of that, there are “Talk” pages for every article where users can discuss changes and improvements to articles. Now look at Community Notes, when a tweet claims something, users can write notes that add context or fact check the tweet, these notes require a citation to be added from a reliable source, they are then voted upon by other users, and are eventually displayed if it gets voted positively enough from a diverse array of users.
I dunno about you, but these two systems sound kinda similar, both are volunteer driven, push for neutrality by getting diverse groups to come to a decision, and emphasize sourcing from reliable places. Yet Elon complains how Wikipedia is biased, but then touts Community Notes as a perfect system, yet calls it biased when it correct him.
It's funny how Elon hates Wikipedia yet has implemented a system that is essentially a Wikipedia that corrects him directly. Maybe he doesn't like it when folks point out when he lies?
its funny how he claims community notes are great then they correct people he doesn’t like but when it corrects him it’s being manipulated by “state actors” which is weird to say when he owns the platform and makes it seem like the system is vulnerable lol
