Independence is an illusion, we were made to live life together!!!!!

I had a very collectivist cultural upbringing, but it’s still hyper-independent in the academic field; everyone is competing and expected to learn and understand quickly by themselves. It took me so long to figure out that I could, and more importantly, SHOULD seek help and self-advocate to do well in the school system

Would’ve saved me so much grief to know that most teachers actually want you to learn and pass their classes and aren’t out to get you

so today i learned i’m older than the backrooms guy……

How lucky I am to be able to love what I work on, and occasionally work on things I love

It’s a bit hard for me to consider myself an expert at anything, but it’s really cool to be at least qualified enough to teach various things out of sheer passion, even if I’m not getting paid! And despite the job market being questionable at this time, I find enough beauty in my area of study to learn more and more

attended a lovely event :) got several compliments on the fit, so here’s a drawn fit check!!

also, ally updates from the last few months:

- became an intermediate skill latin dancer (i’m not latina, my friends got me into it hehe )

- learned how football works, am now mildly into watching it /( ‘ _ ’ )\

- learned how to do makeup (after an extensive 4-year struggle)

- became a 2x published coauthor on research papers (working on my 3rd paper, FREE ME )

- learned how to cook and bake, assisted only by online tutorials and FAFO

- trying to get a better j*b

i may not have the best GPA, but i did save more than one life, coauthor research papers, AND am passing college!! pretty good run if you ask me

i disappeared for a while, so time for a report! in my MIA time i have:

• gotten legitimate depression from a truly demonic computer science course’s professor

• fallen behind in other classes because of said course

• gotten tutoring from multiple friends and TAs, all of whom despise my professor and therefore feel they should help me

• learned to cook on a stovetop officially! i was so bad before

• went to multiple business establishments w cats

• discovered that one of my friends is also my neighbor?!?!?! o_0

• helped submit research papers written by my research teams & i to academic conferences

• gotten back into reading & writing

so overall a pretty ok break!! still getting tutoring rn

so that lasted for like 3 weeks

ok look. when you’re not hungry at dinner, i feel like it should be socially acceptable to just pull out some rinded soft herb cheese and put it on chipotle chips WITHOUT judgement

signing up for early classes actually DOES improve your sleep schedule what

brought back sticker souvenirs for my friends while travelling and now i get to surprise them with them (‿‿)

i got a surprise party i love them

friendship truly is magic bc wdym i get to drag these random humans that i collected and decided to continue bothering around to places for fun :3 and why are they actually going with it

just got my friends to show up with bingos, exchange them, and go for a walk
