that file size guy from the Scratch forums. Jack of many nerd trades, master of none? (He/Him) I lurk a lot, I may appear without warning on your page, especially on older posts...

@jeffalo why wasteof no worky last night 😡

(😛)

it is the Year of Our Lord 2023 and you STILL cannot view a file that’s inside the Windows Recycle Bin, you have to copy it out manually and then you can open it…

WHY?!

Why is the implementation of the Recycle Bin so needlessly complicated ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trash_(computing)#Microsoft_Windows ) as to make this necessary? Why can’t you just move the file to a (mostly) ordinary temp folder and then write some metadata about where it was and when it was deleted, LIKE A NORMAL PERSON? Others have done it right - on iPadOS (shudders) you can view trashed files without recovering them first. And, for that matter (it’s never really affected me, but it has happened to my family), why do I have to worry about the bin filling up or a file being too big to fit? WHO CARES! It’s a folder on my hard drive! It’s full when the drive is full!

man, Windows is a mess.

man, a small indie social network created by a Scratcher and formerly advertised on the Scratch forums? why didn’t I jump on this way earlier?

in fact, I remember back when this domain just held a small placeholder site where you entered product names and it told you if they were wastes of money or not. was this name planned from the very start, or was it just reused because Jeffalo already had the domain?
