I decided to drop in on my school’s coding club yesterday.

All we learned was how to make sprites move around, make them play sounds, and use the Say block in Scratch.

And then we made a project “demonstrating what we had learned” (translation: make an incredibly stupid and generic story thing which you’d expect a three-year-old to make). At that point, I just typed “about:inducebrowsercrashforrealz” into the browser and left.

Heck, most of the people in there were freaking using TypeScript and Python instead of Scratch.

Like, do they think we're idiots?

That sounds like normal computer class (where everyone is dumb cos coding is apparently scary) when coding club would be for people who actually know how to code and this just proves that school computer lessons suck and YouTube taught be more that school ever will

my coding class teacher in 6th grade literally taught us scratch, until someone type in chat “my rating on this class: 0/100, i’m literally learning JS, i’m not stupid” and she taught us HTML after that day
