saw a used book in a store with one of the most visually-striking covers ever made, i open it, and turns out it's a dictionary. a fucking dictionary.
you pasted that internal webhook into a server with 258 people on accident, didn't you?
i've been playing around with 'smallnet' protocols recently, so i decided to set up a capsule for the gemini protocol. the markup language it uses tastes like markdown, and given how absolutely stripped down it is, pages for it load really fast. only downside i've found (that doesn't make it more appealing) is it's name. google took the name for their slopbot and it's making it hard to find resources for it outside of the protocol space itself.
anyway, gemini://theglasspenguin.capsule.town

hiya,
quickly dipping back in here to let yall know that my cool website is now live!! it’s still a heavy work in progress but constructive feedback would be appreciated :))
since i’m trying to leave most social media with minor exceptions, once my site is a bit less rough around the edges, it’ll become the landing page for anything regarding yours truly, whether that’s projects i’m working on or drawings i’ve made or whatever. i’m also trying to deliberately avoid using css for now since i’m afraid of it, but maybe i’ll dip my toes into that sort of thing later.
hope yall like it, peace
(or if that doesn’t work try https://kiwi2.nekoweb.org)
does anybody outside the *nix sphere use package managers for their general-use software (stuff like choco/scoop/winget on windows or brew on mac, excluding project dependencies)
the ios 27 beta is causing my test subject iphone to heat up faster than it usually does - only other time it's reached the temperatures it's at is when i accidentally left it in direct sunlight for 2 hours. i'm guessing this has something to do with the search indexer - it's been stuck at 38% for the whole week post-install
i regret to inform you that they haven't gotten rid of the dead space that was so important it involved shrinking the clock
they had it right before ios 26 and yeah it's pointless but what else am i going to be angry at? politics?

if i try and download a piece of software and the only option on the download page is an "paste this curl+bash fuckery into your terminal and enter your sudo password" then that software is automatically ass. just give me a tarball or a package repo, i am perfectly capable of administering my own machine
every year, someone really close to where i live attempts a shitty rendition of the national anthem on their electric guitar before starting an 'unauthorized' firework show. the police usually show up pretty quick. this time, i counted about 4 explosions before they were forced to stop.
encrypt your drives and set a password on your bios/uefi settings, especially if you use a laptop that you take with you
