I’m American, and I live here now. A few weeks ago, I spent a week in London on my way back from Bulgaria, where I lived for the last year, but that’s the extent of my time in Britain.
You don’t have to make friends with these guys, just help them understand your point of view. If they’re bothering you, let them know that.
No one wants to be evil, and if they knew you saw them that way, perhaps they’d reflect on their actions and make a change.
evil was a substitution for something along the lines of a-hole, also I think they actively want to bother me so telling them that would just be rewarding for them and they would probably do the fake sympathy/patronizing thing they always do. an example of this would be: standing up, waving, and saying “Hi <full name>“ in this totally fake way which they don’t do to anyone other than the people they want to annoy/single out. They do this to pretty much everyone in my general friend group too. I wish people thought compassionately and logically but sadly many don’t.
