fancy equipment is nice and can help but is by no means necessary.

a small camcorder (I have an old Sony Handycam, for instance) will serve you well, particularly as you’re just starting out. I’m sure you can find a good used one on Craigslist or a similar platform for < $60

you may also look into borrowing from a local resource. I know you’re homeschooled, but perhaps your local school depart will still lend you some equipment? Or a local media center?
