oh how much i yearn for a compact camera that takes high resolution pictures and isn’t $2000
i just want a camera i can always have with me. phones dont cut it. i want a physical shutter button. i want the sounds. i want the feelings.

I was able to purchase a single-megapixel dslr from 2005 with camera and lens and cables included for $100 on ebay to use for my photography classes
it’s not the best camera but it gets the job done and i’ve made some really nice photos with it even if it doesn’t have any advanced features
if you know what features you want and aren’t super picky it’s not super hard to find something used for a pretty reasonable price but buying anything professional-grade or brand new is expensive as hell
but absolutely having an actual camera to take pictures with is awesome, i’ve really fallen in love with photography recently and I love being able to take photos with complete control
photography is awesome! i love the feeling of weightlessness, just kinda being an observer of the world. not sure if that made sense, but maybe you feel the same way.
is your camera compact?
pretty compact yeah! fits in my backpack well even if it’s stuffed full of other things, small enough to hold with one hand. it’s a canon digital rebel xt if you’re curious, super old and rudimentary but it gets the job done. definitely get what you mean, I really should start posting my photos sometime
