Gotta hand it to the entertainment industry, they somehow figured out a way to make streaming - which was meant to make watching shows and films cheaper, easier, simpler and more convenient - more or just as expensive, confusing, convoluted and inconvenient as linear TV packages. Like jeez the amount of streaming services is insane; Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, Apple TV+, Paramount+, MGM+, Discovery+ and probably a ton more I forgot, and these are just the international ones, not region specific ones like Hulu, NOW, Max, BBC iPlayer, etc.
Yeah we don’t have Hulu or Max in the UK. IDK where we even get Hulu stuff from in the UK legally, but HBO stuff (which I think is what Max is? IDK if it has other content other than HBO?) is instead on Sky Atlantic via Sky TV packages or their subscription service called NOW, what’s even more confusing is Sky is owned by Comcast yet HBO is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery lol.
glad you like hearing me complain about whatever my goofy brain feels like lmao
also as a Scot I still don't understand what in the world Max is lol. like is it just HBO or is it like more than that? speaking of hbo if you want to watch HBO content in the UK legally you have to get it through Sky (specifically the Sky Atlantic channel/service), which is owned by Comcast and can either be bought via a TV package (which are expensive) or via NOW which is also expensive and convoluted in how it's set up. No wonder piracy is so popular.
Max is HBO but "cool" and "hip". I don't get it. And yes, the prices suck now.
