This is how it used to work in America before they changed it in like the 1800s
It would actually be better now because it would be bipartisan (they would have to give the VP more power though because they don’t have basically any right now)

If they brought back the old one it would be better. If the old system had been used in the 2016 election, Trump wouldn’t have won and would have only been VP.
Wait, actually I was wrong about that. They had the electoral college from the start, they never had a popular vote. My bad.
It was still like I said though, the person who got 2nd place in the electoral college gets to be the VP. They didn’t run both a VP and President together.
