Question: Would you want there to be cameras… everywhere? Excluding peoples houses, cameras would be everywhere, every alley. IR. 4K. fantastic quality. This would obviously be super cool cause it would lower crime by a ton. There is already very little crime in cities with camera’s everywhere. But are the downsides not worth it?

This would not be super cool, this would be incredibly dystopian. It will not stop crime, only deter crime, and people can still cover their faces and stuff. China already has cameras everywhere monitoring people, imagine what they could do with 4K cameras anywhere. This would be a violation of the human right to privacy.

Say what you want, but it definitely WILL stop crime. First off, it’s a fact. China has a very low crime rate. Second off, coving your face won’t do jack. If there were cameras everywhere, you couldn’t get away, as someone could track you everywhere you go.

China has one of the lowest crime rates without 4K cameras on every inch of land, secondly, cameras are not physically capable of stopping crime, you’d still need law enforcement to actually take action on it, and finally, people want privacy, once again, it’s a basic human right, people don’t want a video of everywhere they go in a database.
