why do like 90% of people seem to listen to the exact same music
like did everyone just agree to do that and not invite me at some point

my theory is that over hundreds of years of music production, humanity has figured out the exact formula to make music that hits the right spots in our brains. there’s no more room for creativity and now music producers can only make tiny adjustments as we get closer and closer to the ‘perfect song’
of course, other genres exist, but they’re acquired tastes. this theory would apply to the vast majority of the population.
