South Dakota is a sleeper pick but I agree
North Carolina is S tier though. It is at least one level higher than South Carolina.

Yeah I went to South Dakota, I wouldn’t put it in S tier, but it is really underrated
NC has incredible nature, it has mountains and the beach, (somewhat) competitive politics, and is generally a good place to live, it has some of the fastest growing cities in America for a reason.
NC is not the peak for visiting (except maybe the mountains) but if you want to live somewhere, it’s gonna be one of the best states in America
