Some thoughts on wasteof4 after using it for a few days:
The overall look is vibrant and a lot more visually interesting than wasteof2, and I’d say it builds upon and combines the best elements of wasteof2 and wasteof3.
The more heavy use of users chosen profile colours is a nice addition (especially how links and posts get highlighted with the user’s chosen colour).
It’s stupidly fast.
The new layout for settings is amazing, I had to highlight it specifically just because it is such a step up from wasteof2, it’s easier to understand, and just pleasing to look at.
The little details are nice, like the spinning cog when a page is loading, or how the “X” to close the post composer uses the “𝕏” - which I think is funny. Even the little animation when opening/closing the post composer, or how the text box expands automatically when you start typing in a comment section. It just feels nice.
I did notice emoji are getting rounded when they shouldn’t be, and I think a more clear visual indicator for when you need to scroll to see more of a post when it’s too long would be helpful.
Overall really liking what we’re seeing with wasteof4, daily driving it now on my main account, especially as the Space Grotesk font being used makes it easier to read for me with dyslexia. Excited to see it develop more!
