Just to play devil’s advocate for a brief moment, I mean, yeah, there is no constitutional right to clean water in the US. Source: I have a constitution in front of me right now. There is an argument to be made with the 9th amendment that you have rights beyond those stated in the Constitution, and that would reasonably include clean water. But, yknow, it’s up in the air and I’m not a constitutional expert

The part which is unforgivable is “Engelhardt stated there is no ‘constitutional right to truthful information from officials during a public health crisis.’ “

Like. Yeah. No shit. That’s not a constitutional right. But ???????????? The Constitution opens with one of its purposes being to promote the general welfare, and this sounds very much like officials are taking steps to intentionally ensure that the general welfare of Jackson, Mississippi is not being promoted.

Just because you didn’t infringe on constitutional rights doesn’t mean your lies suddenly didn’t cause people lead poisoning. Pure malarkey
