Today’s verse: Matthew 1:1 “The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham”
Matthew begins his book with Jesus’s genealogy, which is trying to show that Jesus is the rightful king in David’s lineage, and therefore the one promised from the beginning. It also shows the Bible’s commitment to sharing factual events with sources and evidence. Jesus did not come out of nowhere, but was predicted beforehand and is historically proven.
