my school got a new (digital) piano today and it's really fantastic, the sounds it makes are incredible
it was donated by a former member of the BBC Singers so it's very professional - it’s so fancy that it doesn't use a kettle lead for the power supply!
I'm now getting to the point in my life where I'm actually having to put some effort in at school
kind of sad that I can’t just do well without too much work, but it’s definitely a good thing
@imadeanaccount has done a cracking job here, I look forward to the raw data being released and for more studies in the future!
am currently lost somewhere near Sevenoaks, trying to find the M25
just went to the opticians and my prescription increased by half a dioptric in each eye (not great bc my lenses are meant to stop my eyesight getting worse) but on the plus side I get the new lenses for freeeeeeee!!!
I run the ukulele club at my school and I'm currently doing some arrangements so I'm ready for September… yesterday I did We Are Family and now I really want to do It’s Raining Men - I just don't know if people will appreciate all the disco!
you can never have too much 70s/80s disco
I've been working on a thing that compiles scratch projects to webassembly recently. Today I finished a couple of things that meant I could run some benchmarks - I was expecting it to run as fast as turbowarp seeing as at the moment there are so many things missing that would slow it down - turns out it was 3x slower than vanilla scratch just for incrementing a number 1000000 times
I then did the loop using a <
block rather than =
and it ran twice as fast as scratch (and also twice as slow as turbowarp but I'm going to ignore that)
I've got a lot of work to do!
I got an 8 (A*) in english lit and 9s (A**/A^) in my 10 other subjects! ‘tis very very very good :D
it’s GCSE results day tomorrow… will probably be more nerve-wracking than any of the exams

Today at swimming one of the girls said “strangers are just friends you haven't met yet”.
It’s simultaneously inspiring and a little bit concerning.
ahoy there!
music exam today wanted us to compare a baroque piece with a jazz standard which was… unusual. There was a lot to say though so that was good.
and only 2 more exams now!
