The Christmas Light Count is looking a bit different this year compared to last year - so far I’ve counted 41 properties with Christmas decorations on my usual local routes - this time last year I had 8!! That’s 5 times more!! It’ll be interesting to see whether we get more christmas lights overall, an earlier plateau, or something entirely different…

21 minutes ago, in comes order. Harmattan, Burton & Smith. Eight extra-large deep- dish pizzas. In eight minutes, I am defaulting on Joe’s 29-minute guarantee. Then, not only am I receiving no money for these pizzas… …but I will lose the customer forever to Pizza Yurt. Look, you are my only hope, all right? You have to make it in time. Peter, you’re a nice guy. But you’re just not dependable. This is your last chance. You have to go 42 blocks in seven and one half minutes or your ass is fired. Go!

fun fact: despite popular belief, this image, and many fakes like it, never appeared in the Wii instruction manual. here's the japanese Wii manual for anybody who wants to have a look https://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/support/pdf/wiimanual_setup.pdf

Do not let your Wii fight in the military. It is not good with weapons.

who would’ve thought doing nothing to gain any left-wing support will mean you won’t win the election

US Elections 2024 Recap:

  • It is a red wave. Trump won the presidential election in a landslide. He won about 10 million votes more than Kamala, the first time he’s ever won the popular vote. As of this writing he has 277 electoral votes to Kamala’s 224, with more likely coming. 270 are needed to win.

  • Kamala had terrible turnout. Trump got about the same number of votes as 2020, but Kamala had 20 million less votes than 2020 (That’s 25% less!)

  • The Senate flipped to Republican control. They have at least 52 seats, with several close races still not called.

  • The House of Representatives is still up in the air. Republicans have a slight lead, but there are still ~50 more races to be called.

  • 10 states voted on measures relating to abortion. 6 states voted for abortion rights. South Dakota, Nebraska, and Florida voted to keep their bans or restrictions on abortion.

  • The Supreme Court is likely to remain in conservative control in the next few cycles, as Trump will be able to replace 2 justices who are expected to retire soon.

TLDR: Trump and his allies won.

i don't like the phrase “socially liberal” as it acquaints the support for basic human rights with a (kinda bad) economic policy
