Harmful in what sense lol. And needing to explicitly say that something is meant as a joke kinda kills it.
harmful, because bigotry is rooted in stereotypes. i think that making your jokes accessible to people who don´t look at something and immediately see it as a joke is more important that “not kinda killing it”, and a simple /j does not “kill it”. i do usually use strikethrough for this though, as at least to me it does not affect how funny the joke looks at all
