update: i finished the book
yes it took a while as at the start i could read 2 pages per hour or so, but as i’ve learnt much more words and got better at reading in gaelic, at the end i could read something like 7 pages per hour
gonna read the sequel tomorrow
gonna start reading a novel in scots gaelic
i’ve had around 4 months of learning gaelic and this is going to be the real test (and will probably cause a lot of pain and suffering)

you start off knowing absolutely nothing and you slowly learn more words and grammar until you can speak that language
