i don’t like that everyone hates webp - it’s a really cool format (transparent like png, animates like gif), and everything i use can open it
very little of the software i actually use supports webp, that’s why i don’t like it
what software do you use that doesn’t support webp
and anyway, i wrote a files extension that you can right click and select “Turn Into…” to convert something to another file so that isn’t much of a problem for me
libreoffice, gimp, pantoMIME, converseen, MATEye, a couple of other packages i have scrambled throughout my system…
libreoffice: i suspected
gimp: lie; i can open it in that
pantoMIME, converseen: no clue
MATEye: weird, Eye of GNOME supports it
honestly i forgot why i hated webp so now i like it
can powerpoint support it yet
imagine having to use the microsoft store instead of just being able to write sudo apt install webp
