tomatoes are a vegetable. A vegetable is a culinary term for any part of a plant that is used to partner or used with a main course of a meal. the categories can and do overlap.

thanks for proving me right! told you a vegetable was any edible part of a plant tpyically used to accompany a main course!

if you read the results closely they say it doesn’t include flower ovaries (fruits), which tomatoes are

other sources say that fruits and nuts on plants still count as vegetables, as the definition is just an edible part of a plant.

that’s not the scientific distinction between fruits and vegetables though 👀
