to be clear about alpha/beta, wasteof3 (currently the beta site) is being skipped. it's only still online because some people rely on it.
it served as the base for wasteof4 (currently the alpha), which has all the same features but a much better interface and design. i don't think alpha is going to be publicly accessible until it just launches for everyone (and by then wasteof3 will be turned off)
this is a long term plan. the api won't be affected.

(it doesn’t matter at all I’m just curious) do you have an idea of a timeframe? (also I really like the highlighting thing when you mouse over stuff in the alpha and how it changes by user color)
yeah I was curious too if there is a timeframe, I was also curious how long it took to get production/wasteof2 to where it is now?
the first commit to wasteof2 was May 24, 2021 (but the api’s first commit was on February 13 2021), it launched around June 12th 2021.
wasteof3 work started around April 10th 2022. it was nearly fully usable at launch on April 24th 2022 (i guess i had a lot of free time back then to build the site in just two weeks!). the last commit was October 10th 2022
wasteof4’s first commit was all the way back in December 2022, and there’s currently no writing posts/comments, editing, messages, feed, etc. (basically there’s only viewing stuff, loving and following), so i’ve definitely been taking it slow and steady :P
totally understandable! take all the time you need. pretty crazy how fast wasteof2 and 3 were written. wasteof4 is shaping up to be really good too!
its difficult to say. i work on wasteof between my school work, but i’m now in my most difficult years of school so i dunno how much time i’ll get. lets see how it is in 3 months and decide
