it makes posts a bit less meaningful when you aren’t adding to a conversation/using reposts for their intended purpose. why not use comments in this case, which do not show up on peoples’ feeds?
Also it’s a pain to scroll through and makes it harder to find the original post in the chain
I don’t care about the original post. And scrolling through was already a pain when everyone was talking about blaze (nobody needed to care that much for that long), so it’s definitely a matter of preference.

Yeah, this is exactly the reason why I hate empty reposts. There’s nothing constructive going on there, even with my definition of constructive.
meaning and humor are both but inventions of the human psyche, and can be whatever we make them to be
yeah but can you not use comments when you're going to make so many reposts?
but why even allow this in the first place? a feature that encourages spam should be limited and it shouldn't be expected of everyone else to "scroll past it" or "unfollow people" when it comes to spam. also, jeffalo has explicitly told people not to do long repost chains.
