anyway i have decided to open communal housing to any for whom it would be a wise financial decision. rent will be set at a flat rate of $500 USD per month - less than a quarter of the average U.S. rent - for a maximum of seven roommates per living space :3

i think so? it should be affordable even for someone working the average minimum wage in the US if my math is right
toaks hasn’t been collecting those taxes for nothing! your living will be subsidized 
Most of the lower listings in my area are in the mid $1000s (so you could possibly find something for ~700 if you have a roommate). It used to be (and still is relatively) cheaper but lots of people are moving here all the time
