maybe there is some truth to that; though I wish I felt comfortable enough to talk to people I like
For sure. Talking to people can be hard. Especially someone you want to like you.
However, if you only wish to become comfortable talking, it wonât happen. You gotta take action to make it happen, and thatâll be easiest while youâre young.
Practice. Approach people when youâve got something to say. Make yourself heard. The more you do it, the more comfortable youâll be with it.
Social interaction is a skill like any other. Think about improving that skill. I know every opportunity seems crucial, and doing something that might jeopardize one relationship can seem foolish, but there will always be more opportunities for you to approach from a better place with what you learn now.
Also, as an adult, no one cares who you were in high school. Donât worry about creating some reputation you canât escape.
Take chances, make mistakes, and do things that scare you. Youâll be better off for it.
