What were the method?

1. identifying people by their IP address on an IRC channel, and 2. identifying people by their user agent through a website protocol that secretly recorded the user agents of users.

Oh, well neither is possible on Wasteof unless you're an admin. If the admins did do that tho, that would be pretty bad and spoil any mysteries

The admins do have access to users’ IP addresses. I recall a conversation in which Jeffalo asked Ratio (rest in peace) if they were Skylar’s alt, saying “I'm not an idiot” and asking why they were connected from the same network when they denied.

Bottom line, they do have access to that information. I'm divided on whether or not they should expose alts outside of emergencies, though.

Honestly, I don’t think there’s much of a reason. There’s no emergency here, and honestly I think it’s a fun “mystery”
