Just picked up 670 odd dollar (aud) headphones for almost $300. What a steal
usually you would say that you stole it, not that it was a steal, when you commit an act of thievery; describing a deal or purchase as “a steal” almost always means that it was for less than it could’ve been
Yes but not necessarily see you are forgetting that steal can be both a present and future tense of a verb... He may have said he "got" a steal but shortly before that message he DM-ed me a link to said headphones meaning the "Got" is more accurately a "found" which means he doesn't have it yet and it becomes future tense. Which means he found something to steal therefore as a verb he will steal which means it should be free... It wasn't cheaper it was marked up $300!
