i joined the cult of arch linux
i formally apologize in advance for any increase in annoyingness on my part due to this switch
i would join the cult of arch linux too but i’m too incompetent with linux at the moment lol
if you have a large USB stick then you can just burn the iso image to a USB, boot into it, connect to wifi with iwctl
, and then run archinstall
. it will open an interface that essentially sets the system up for you. if you need some help with archinstall you can ask me and I’ll give you some tips for configuration. doing it on USB allows you to confine the operating system to an external device, which means you can boot into it from (almost) any computer simply by plugging it in. this is called live USB booting. i live boot all of my Linux distros because it’s super convenient for switching between windows and Linux, as I can do it easily just by unplugging the USB. alternatively, you can partition your system drive and put it on there, but its much more complicated and you’d probably not want to do that.
the Samsung BAR series sticks are some of the best and fastest in my experience
