Unfortunately, B4GS has been discontinued as we don’t have enough active players to complete turns. Unless there happens to be a sudden resurgence of interest, I don’t think there are many reasons to continue. I don’t blame this on any particular people or events, it just seems to be my luck.
If enough people want me to continue, I am 100% willing to restart B4GS. However, I will only do so if we have 4+ players and they are fairly active. If so, just leave a comment.
Thank you to those who joined and participated in B4GS.

Yes, I’m still here. However, I don’t think there’s a reason to stay if nobody cares. It seems although B4GS received a fair amount of support initially, it never gained traction and we have not progressed past the second turn (if you can call it that). There are several factors that might have contributed, but knowing exactly what isn’t trivial. On one hand, it could be because people forgot I even existed, but it could also not be.
The primary reason is likely how little the game is explained, which definitely doesn’t help given that this game is supposed to be long-term and strategy dependent. I did intend to simply explain as I go, answer any question to the best of my abilities and document things as needed, but that really isn’t enough. That, and probably the fact I am not great at meeting deadlines ;-;
Before I go ahead and discontinue B4GS, I want to ask players something: What needs better explanation? What should be added to improve the player experience? How can I make B4GS more appealing?
If B4GS does not receive sufficient activity, I will be ending it on August 1st. Do people care? Hopefully. I cared about B4GS and I still do. I don’t like seeing games with potential die and get shoved aside to be forgotten. Is this a long rant full of copium about how I can’t keep a single internet game alive? Probably. It ain’t the end of the world.
Bringing this post up as there are insufficient actions to complete the turn.
So far, not much has happened. Lack of housing, production and resources plague the Societies of B4GS. At the very least, most players are active.
Now that we have a new turn, harvesting limits have reset and civilians will consume food. Quick reminder to players that there are no limits to building in a turn, and you can do both harvesting and building in a single turn.

You should be playing Battle for Google Sheets
(But seriously, we only have 2 players making any actions)
Battle for Google Sheets players should now have their player sheets. Actions can now be performed, so go ahead and flatten the surroundings for profits.
Why 0.1? Because it looks funky, and we’re in the Passive Phase. You can’t attack anyone just yet.
These posts will be made to document major actions and signify the start of a new turn. This is where you post your desired actions, such as building, expanding or attacking. You know, when you can do that.
Player maps will be created Soon™, it’ll take a fair bit of work. You’ll be given your resources and population then.

To Sign Up: Reply below with the desired name of your Society, the name of its Capital, and the central coordinates you want. You must be at least 40 tiles away from another Society.
Actions:
Building: choose the coordinates of the building you want. If you have the resources, it’ll be built. You can only build on your Player Map.
Harvesting: you can harvest resources within your own Player Map or territory at any time, or up to 5 tiles away for anything outside.
Expanding: you can expand your territory once every turn, up to 10 tiles (at base). Doing so requires food, with increasing requirements per tile.
Attacking: you may attack any Society given enough power. Simply state which Society you want to attack, and I’ll handle the rest. Generally, the Society with the most power wins.
Alliances: You can ally with another Society to share resources. You’ll need to coordinate this with me and the Society’s commander. Separating alliances is not possible unless you both agree. Alliances are automatically separated if one player leaves or quits.
Merging: this combines two Societies into one, and splits control between two players. To merge, you must be allied with that Society, and both agree to a merge. You must come up with a new name and Capital. Merges cannot be undone.

Battle for Google Sheets is now ready for launch. To sign up, provide the desired name of your Society, the name of its Capital, and the central coordinates. You may also select a colour by providing a valid hex colour code. You must be at least 40 tiles away from another Society. Your society cannot be located on High Mountains or Rocky Plains
While the map is quite small at the moment, it will expand over time, revealing new areas and additional resources. Special events will shake up the environment, and even give you new dimensions to explore (and industrialize).
The tech tree is locked at the moment. It will unlock later for everyone to work their way through. Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten it, but I’d like to give it some time before it’s available.

Hey there wasteof gang, it’s great to see people actually interested in Battle for Google Sheets. I assumed it’d end up dead like all the games I made on the TBGs, but it seems people genuinely want to play, and for that, I’m very thankful.
Battle for Google Sheets was set to launch today, but I’ve been pushed back by other tasks and factors outside my control. Rest assured, B4GS will be ready within the next 48 hours. I want to ensure I have all the basic mechanics laid out and I can develop more from there. So far, a map, resources, production mechanics, basic buildings and territories are all ready. The Technology Tree is still being worked on, but will be available on launch.
Over time, the map will expand, new technologies and buildings become available available, events will shake up the landscape and hostile forces may start appearing. I have many plans for the future of B4GS.
Welcome to the official Battle for Google Sheets (B4GS) Wasteof account. All updates, announcements, notices and more will be posted directly to this account. Drop a follow if you want to receive updates, even if you aren’t playing.
Battle for Google Sheets is a strategy game that places you in control of your very own Society. Given a small amount of resources and a tiny population, you must expand, harvest, innovate and conquer to become the biggest Society. Set up farms and mines to stockpile materials. Grow an army to defend or offend. Build structures to support your civilians. Fight for control over territory. Form alliances and assist your fellow players, or become a menace and destroy everything. The choice is yours.
Battle for Google Sheets is currently in early gameplay phase. Players can sign up and engage in the action. More content is still being developed, and some features are WIP.

In this Much Epic game for Big Brain Gamers, fight for control over a seemingly normal spreadsheet to become the biggest Society by acquiring resources, building structures, expanding your territory and conquering other civilizations. Don’t like fighting? Form alliances or build impenetrable defences. Want to gain an edge? Use Research Points and your wealth of materials to level up your buildings or Society. I’ll be continuously improving the game over time, and if all goes well, things will last a long time. Anyone can drop in at any time, and if your Society gets conquered, you can join right back in.
