I'm going to write a mayoral essay on Darflen outlying the ways the site can progress in the community aspects. This is a reminder to future me to write about;
Reducing low quality content/posts that could be as 1 posts but instead take up more.
Distancing the site from scratch degeneracy e.g. pging, namesniping, by discouraging such content (not banning it, but discouraging).
Better relations with other social medias e.g. wasteof.money. Action can be taken on both sites to improve relations but I feel like the entire community of Darflen (including, but not limited to, qxva and me) must understand the necessities of peace. In terms of growth, wo.m would be a great source of new users - as it already has been. In terms of community, many users could greatly benefit darflen. Hence, it is important to not disgust wo.m which might happen by having a community where more people act like qxva (intentionally ban speedrunning / mass account creating and then criticising slow moderator response that is absolutely explainable).
That was supposed to be a planning post but I basically wrote everything I needed for the 3rd point.
Expanding on the first point:
This does not mean “ban ‘“low quality’” content. “Low quality” is ridiculous, completely subjective, and leads to a “qualitycentral” culture like on wasteof.money where bullying those who do not fit “traditional” posting norms is acceptable (that’s the main reason why I post on this wall, I don't want to be attacked for posting “too much” again). The meaning of that is simply that many apparent “low quality” (to an outsider considering joining) posts could be combined into one. [provide example(s) such as MrMeem’s tallyhallposting]. The simplest way to improve this situation, albeit more minor, is to combine multiple posts into one, which creates an impression of high quality to an outsider - essentially advertising Darflen as better than people think it is (because it is). Ofcourse, the posts have to be similar in content but this is easy when you consider situations like [example].
“completely subjective, and leads to a “qualitycentral” culture like on wasteof.money where bullying those who do not fit “traditional” posting norms is acceptable (that’s the main reason why I post on this wall, I don't want to be attacked for posting “too much” again)”, when this happen bro, like i dont notice this?
What does it matter? Have you seen any different recently? I certainly haven't! and I see more than all but the moderators!
