aaAAAaaaaAAAaa a aa aaaa aa aa aa-me, discovering what zero gravity in Rain World feels like
I had some more dreams that happened after I wrote that entry. However, to save room, I'll just share my Rain World progress update right now.
ENTRY A - Rain World Day 5, Ses. 8
I finally managed to checkpoint in The Wall . . . only to discover how painfully close I came to discovering the gate into FP's superstructure! I'm currently trying to get back into the shelter in the center of the Underhang. It's a miracle that my friendship with my third blue friend (a grappling worm) hasn't ended yet!
Why do I keep waking from a dream at this very specific time? I don't know, but I'll play along with it…
ENTRY F - The Rot Won't Stop
I had a dream that I came up with a parody of Dreams Don't Stop about the Rot. In the same dream, I traveled around TLoZ:TotK by Like Like, explored a settlement of slugcat royalty in Rain World, met someone who sold things that were somehow all contaminated with dog diseases, and walked on a beach presumably filled with beached jellyfish.
ENTRY C - Rain World Day 4, Ses. 7
I made it through Underhang and into The Wall. I found a shelter in The Wall, but due to a pesky Dropwig and a lucky blue lizard, I'm still checkpointed in a shelter that's inside the Underhang, but is close to the entrance to The Wall. I died by drop WAY too much . . .
(For evidence of exactly how much I fell, see the post edit log.)
ENTRY A - Rain World Day 4, Ses. 6
I'm making tangible progress in The Exterior, as I have made it to a new shelter. I've started encountering DLLs, and they aren't too hard to deal with. The real problem is the white lizard that lives outside the shelter.
I second this idea, on the condition that there's some preparation beforehand. By my conditions, we would be maintaining a list of who’s swapping personalities with who at least a week in advance. We could also swap pfps or pfp art styles, or we could keep our pfps and let others try to figure out who's trying to look like who.
what if on april fools we all swapped around the type of posts we make.
like, imadeanaccount starts posting about dragons, radi8 talks about wasteof4 progress, i start talking about my 100% real college life, and oren starts posting quotes from breaking bad
It's 7:11pm and I absentmindedly pressed the + button in the corner of the screen. I guess that I'll give an update on my Prestige Tree progress.
Time Played: 7d 5h
First Prestige reset: 3.79s
First Booster reset: 3m 29.03s
First Generator reset: 15m 20.39s
First Time reset: 38m 33.12s
First Enhancement reset: 53m 59.32s
First Space reset: 1h 4.00m
First Super Booster reset: 1h 21.00m
First Super Generator reset: 21h 36.00m
First Hindrance reset: 1h 57.00m
First Quirk reset: 1h 26.00m
First Solarity reset: 6d 23h
First Subspace reset: 6d 22h
First Balance reset: 7d 22hI managed to get Subspace, Solarity and Balance Energy unlocked since my last update. I can't help but notice that Balance resets progress on Hindrances, but doesn't have any milestones preventing them from being reset. Since Magic is tied closer to Hindrance Spirit, I'd assume that it has the milestone in question.
ENTRY C - Rain World Day 3, Ses. 5
In this session, I made zero saved progress in The Leg. So I decided to try out Arena mode instead, and that was fun! In between a lot of deaths, here's the results of each of today's Competitive-mode rounds that I recorded over Shellfish:
PLAY #1:

PLAY #3:

My combat skills are definitely getting better. I initially entered Arena mode to work on my sliding, rolling and pouncing skills, but my spear-wielding skills have improved far more than I anticipated. Maybe, just maybe, this could be my first step towards being more than a Hunter wannabe . . .
I just discovered that I've been misspelling someone's name for the past two months. I can't think of anything to add to this post . . .
. . . well, actually, I do.
ENTRY A - Rain World Day 3, Ses. 4
I'm currently in The Leg. Despite my progress, I want to passage back to Outskirts so I can visit Farm Arrays, Sky Islands, Chimney Canopy, and The Wall. I'm probably supposed to travel through all of those regions on my way out of Five Pebbles, but I like to do things my way.
Another night, another dream that I feel like sharing at 5am . . .
ENTRY 4.2.F - GT-180 and Artisan
I had a dream that I got a YT link from a GT-180 broadcast. For some reason; I decided to watch it on the big screen instead of outright ignoring it. In the video, a group of object show characters were singing, and one of them sung about an "ancient forest fox". They were promptly attacked by a still sprite of a discolored fox, accompanied by a TloZ:BotW-style healthbar. The other object character told me to forget anything happened. The video ended. I flipped out over the fact that I forgot to pause the watch history before watching the video, which wasn't made any better by the TV playing my screensaver, accompanied by loud and slightly profane music. I ran over to my laptop to make the music stop.
Later in the dream, I dreamed about some sort of 3D rendition of Rain World, where a slugcat colored similarly to Artisan was exploring random places before falling down a deep shaft into a very large room. According to the UI, the room was the Submerged Superstructure, but it was effectively a massive, square room that resembled a TloZ:TotK-style shrine. As 'Artisan' entered, the camera zoomed in on the ceiling to reveal it to be made of a bunch of tiled screens. The room was otherwise empty.
I also looked through a book similar to Puzzles from Penrose in a later dream, in an attempt to find the meaning of the "ancient forest fox".
RAIN WORLD PROGRESS UPDATE: In 33 cycles, I met up with LttM. I wasn’t able to understand her speech, there weren’t any obvious things to do (other than eat her neuron flies, which I didn’t), and Iggy is nowhere to be found.
. . . I’m a little confused. I’m currently headed out of LttM’s subreigon. Was there something that I was supposed to do?

oh, my
hello
. . . goodbye?
it seems like there is nothing we can do about her . . .
iggy, you are my - and her - only hope . . .
. . . I'll admit that the audio engineering was good
iggy?
where are you?
IGGY! I NEED YOUR HELP!
iggy is gone...
-=-EDIT: Iggy has reappeared and is giving me directions again.
RAIN WORLD SESSION #2: I escaped from Industrial Complex, traveled through Shaded Citadel, and am currently in a freshly discovered shelter somewhere beneath Coastline. I hope that I'm going the right way.
(I just realized that I should've written about this in my journal and copied it over here. Oh well.)
RAIN WORLD PROGRESS UPDATE: After my dad started his own file and found the gate to Industrial Complex, I decided to forget about Drainage System and try my luck in Industrial Complex instead. That was certainly the right course to take, as I have yet to go back into Outskirts and I am thriving in there! Almost.
On my last cycle, I was headed back to a shelter without much time left on the cycle, when I realized that the path to the shelter was just barely out of reach. With no time to take a detour, I remembered the vertical spear pole technique. I backflipped, staked the spear, climbed it to the exit, and made it back to the shelter in time!
I also completed The Survivor in that hibernation. Given my infinite-or-nothing thinking for certain resources, I’m not sure where I’ll use the passages.
The time is 4:59am. I'm sharing this journal entry, then hopefully going back to sleep . . .
ENTRY F
I had a dream that Mef wrote a wasteof post containing a character explanation of the serpent gods. It's a shame that I ever delayed reading it; by the time I took a second look at the post, it had somehow been replaced with xkcd-like comics in the style of A+. Shouldn't have wasted so much time looking for Watt and playing Minecraft Dungeons with my sister and my cracked, hollow thumb . . .
ENTRY C
The attempt to test Rain World at the event failed on account of inventory, but then I went home and played it on my own terms! So far, I made it into Drainage System after much effort. When the rain approached, there was a shelter on the other side of the room. I assumed that, this being the Drainage System, the room would flood rather than get crushed in the rain, allowing me to swim over the obstacles in the way and into the shelter. The rain did not accumulate. Being the person obsessed with knowledge to the point of calling it "mashed potatoes", that was an L on my part.
P.S. Did I seriously forget to mention the jokes that me and my sister made?
"Annoying pole plant neighbor", a joke from me about a pole plant located directly outside a shelter, which got me on multiple occasions.
"Eggs for breakfast", a joke from my sister, who liked the eggbugs.
Plenty of laughter over the slugcat and lizards casually passing each other in pipes, plus multiple cases of the slugcat and green lizards repeatedly pipe-cheesing each other.
When my sister asked if the mushrooms had any use, I responded with "I hear that they make everything go woweowawomwm" (paraphrased, of course.)
