So, at 7:01 PM CST yesterday (May 2nd), my microSD card with 11 months of pictures and videos was randomly formatted, and every image on my device was deleted. I have very little idea as to why or how this happened, though I have my suspicions.
Luckily, I managed to restore most of those images and videos via DiskDigger (deleted data is marked as "overwriteable" on a hard drive when "deleted" though is rarely automatically overwritten with null bytes, and thus often times recoverable to an extent if you're quick enough) and even found a few files from back in June

[DRAGON] trueI discovered BetaArchive today and got so excited, as I had just found another seemingly incredibly easy to find archived software, until I learned you first need to contribute something in order to have access to the files.
In my opinion, that's fucking stupid. You need to have an unreleased, lost, or otherwise not already archived piece of media (heavily unlikely) and the tools to get them in a state that you can upload it (which, depending on the type of media, can wildly vary). The chances of you actually having something to upload and be accepted are very low.
Honestly, just upload to the Internet Archive.
The glorious QOL changes that came to Alpha yesterday have unfortunately been reverted, which is just another example of corporate enshittification. So, not only will I be bringing them back to Alpha, I’ll also bring them to Production

It’s a perfectly viable and working technology, and they literally work and run better than any Android app on a Chromebook would. I’m going to find a way to disable ChromeOS updates because of this shit
