space mission idea:
send up an HLS starship but with fins into low earth orbit.
fully refuel it.
orbit a starship without its fairing and vacuum engines replaced with nuclear thermal ones. this will be a booster.
refuel the booster.
attach the booster to the first starship.
use this setup to get to titan (saturn’s moon). both stages land near a methane lake so they can somehow autonomously refuel.
the people inside can step outside and breathe in a -179°C nitrogen atmosphere approximately 1.5x denser than earth’s. their lungs may freeze, however. other things would probably also happen but your lungs (and other bodily things) would freeze before anything else.
get back to earth.
fun fact: the first verse of “12 days of christmas” was originally “a part of a juniper tree”, but as it got passed down through generations and generations and across borders, somehow, it became “a partridge in a pear tree”

like, i love astronomy and physics, but i’m good at math, but im also really passionate about biology, and also really passionate about computer science, and also really interested in philosophy, and i write stories as a hobby

interestingly, the name of the bird probably comes from the country!
the bird was being traded around in Europe and Asia at the time, and nobody really knew where it came from. so most european languages have a different name for it, like in france where they thought it came from india, so they called it “dinde”. in england, i guess it was commonly thought that the bird came from turkey, so that’s what it’s called in english today!
