For me the main appeal of wings of fire was that it had interesting worldbuilding and there were a lot of unanswered questions.

Dude I get that like maybe you don’t like those books, but just because you don’t doesn’t mean other people shouldn’t. I fully respect that you don’t personally enjoy reading them but your opinion of a piece of media is not objective. People like different things, and I think as long as those things don’t spread offensive/hateful messages then it is totally fine for people to like them as much as they want to. I feel it is just needlessly negative and judgmental to shit on something someone else likes just because you think other things are better. Let people like what they want in peace, you have your preference and they have theirs, as long as neither causes any harm, there is no problem with either.

I mean, I think its just a matter of personal preference. A lot of people choose to read what they like rather than what is deemed as good literature. If they think its good and they enjoy it, then they like it, and it doesn’t matter if its generally considered to be not that good.

So to answer that question: Its simply just because they like those kinds of books. And it doesn’t really matter why.

Same reason people only listen to Taylor Swift, or [insert artist name here]

And at least the first two series I don't think are well written. This is just my opinion, but as a professional consumer I know what I don't like.
