Let’s play a game of “Fortunately, Unfortunately“. Respond the previous post (the first comment below this post) by replying this post (not the previous post!)

I’ll start with: “I found this website.“

imagine owning an Amiga

/(x*) *\+ *(x*) *= *\1\2|(x*)(x*) *- *\3 *= *\4/g

matches with these strings:

  • xxxxx+xxx=xxxxxxxx

  • xxxx - xx = xx

  • xxxxxxx + xxx= xxxxxxxxxx

  • xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx - xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx = x

The reason why video hosting is so difficult back then is because the available network bandwidth back then can’t cope with the huge bitrate that the codecs of the time requires. (this is before CDNs are a thing)

And here we are with YouTube selling users with “better” bitrate from the already acceptable video quality they’re currently using ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Snakes, Ladders, and More

(Yes, this is a game. Or should I say a meta-game?)

After the critical reception of Snakes and Ladders, we as the R&D team of Antiquity Inc. are given a task to make a sequel called "Snakes, Ladders, and More" in hope to make the game more strategic and fun.

We've been given some cards that would be the main mechanic to introduce strategy to SLaM. Previously on this brainstorming session, we've decided to make 4 types of cards:

  • Action: Make the players do some action.

  • Item: Like action cards, but players could store it or use then immediately.

  • Ability: Extend the game rules for the player. This card could be used throughout the entire game or after some number of uses.

  • Effect: Extend the game rules for either the player or everyone playing under a turn limit.

We've also discussed the specifics on the usage of the cards, mainly:

  • On the board, there will be squares where players take a card.

  • When the card has been used, it is put on the discard pile, where it is reshuffled when the main card pile is used up.

Now it's time to make the cards itself. On your post, use quotes which represents a card. In the card, there should be the type, name, and description of the card written on it. Here's some examples of cards:

Ability - Capture

When your move to another player's square, that player goes back to square 1

Action - Oops

Your roll is invalid; go back to where you were before

Item - d20

Use an icosahedron dice

Effect - Opposite Day (global)

Snakes act like ladders and vice versa

Any more card ideas?

what if I make @wastednews but community driven?
