has anybody else gotten the YouTube update that removes the recommendation feed until you re-enable watch history?
i know the goal is to pressure more people to enabling watch history, but for me personally it is amazing. visiting youtube.com or the youtube mobile app with watch history disabled is entirely distraction free and i love it.

unfortunately recommendations still appear on the right of videos, so I will need an extension after all
I got this update and I hate it. I don’t want to turn on watch history, but I do want videos to be recommended to me.
Yes, I hate it. I switched to using YouTube with a Google account I use more for personal use, accidentally left watch history on and when I went to disable it I got this. I’ve used YouTube for like 5 years with watch history turned off. I’ve now left watch history on but I hate this.
this sort of thing is why i’m using freetube/skytube
mostly also because only your subscriptions affect the recommendations on those apps instead of all your activity on the site
didn’t (or shouldn’t) YouTube had a word against third party clients?
(unless if these are a separate service)
