Someone should do a double-blind study to see if people can actually tell the difference between 60hz, 120hz, and 240hz displays. I’m convinced it’s just a placebo effect, and no one can actually tell.

Even if the human eye can't see that fast, it still makes a difference because the light from the frame is cast

You could design a test with this where something shows just for a frame at different frame rates

alright I’m gonna try to do that right now

It appears to work, and while I can definitely see the object appearing even at 144 FPS

60 Hz is already very smooth, I don’t need higher framerate

s/rate/rates

true, I have 120hz and I often switch between 120 and 60 and I can’t tell the difference. Still leave it on 120 tho

i can notice

60 and 120, i can tell. anything more is fake

why did you post this 3 times

internet issues prob

I can 100% tell the difference between 60 and 144 (my monitor is 60, but my laptop is 144). It's logarithmic; not a cutoff. The higher the framerate, the less noticeable the difference is. Higher frames aren't worth much except for video games anyway, so who cares ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
